 According to
“national project of training personnel”, mastering, an advanced step of higher
education system, was founded in 1999.
Mastering – 2
years program on a certain major after bachelor’s degree in higher education
system (norms of Uzbekistan Republic higher
education, page 9). Master program was confirmed by order ¹ 305 on 30th of
October,1998. “Regulation about master program”(collection of higher education
norms, 221 page).

 8 of the masters on 6 fields of science participated in
Uzbekistan Republic President State Scholarship competition in September, 2004
and, 4 of them were successful in the competition. 2nd year master Sharof
Hudoyberdiyev of “Biotechnology” field, taking part in competition on
“physics-mathematics and chemistry-biology” became the first winner of Uzbekistan
Republic President State Scholarship at the Samarkand State University for the first time. 2nd year master Sh.Arabboyev of
“Information technology” became also a winner of President Scholarship in 2005.
